Those in the inner circle use a strategy often described as 'creating the disease and then providing the cure'. It creates a base state of anxiety and fear. This creates a blowback effect wherein the employees become resentful and recalcitrant. The 'cure' for this 'disease' is for senior management to tighten controls in order in order to keep all in line. |

There are various Lean Six Sigma tools that are used in this type of Six Sigma and each tool is introduced at a certain time in the stages of DMAIC, or Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. When learning Lean Six Sigma, the Define stage is the first stage you will go through. This stage is meant to teach individuals to identify where there are improvement opportunities and customer deliverables and a scope will be defined here as well. There are many tools that are introduced in this stage such as stakeholder analysis, SIPOC Diagram and the voice of the customer. The SIPOC Diagram will be one of the most often used tools in Lean Six Sigma. |
